Radio Germany International: In an interview with Channel 1 of German TV, Manouchehr Mottaki emphasized that the prisoners who are sentenced to death are guilty of disturbing the country’s security.

Mottaki, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs said that these prisoners are criminals. Ignoring the fact that two political prisoners were executed recently and nine others are likely to be executed in the near future, he called Iran a free country where everyone can protest and complain, if they respect the law.

Previously, the European Union urged Iran to end its issuance of execution sentences. Katrin Eshton, the officer of foreign policy of the European Union, stated that the recent executions are “part of the bigger project of frightening the citizens.”
