Sarchahi, who is a member of the Iranian Bar Association, was brutally arrested on the day of Ashura (December 27, 2009). He is held at Evin Prison in a state of limbo and uncertainty.

The interrogators have put Sarchahi under excruciating pressure to agree to televised interview as well as self-incriminating false confession.

Sardarchi was severely beaten during his arrest.
