WHAT do we want from Iran? An Arabic proverb says, ‘the only good thing we want from you is for you to stop your transgression.’ We can use this proverb in analyzing the current situation between the Arabs and Iran. We want Iran to stop its evil activities, especially its attempt to interfere in our internal affairs, play with our lands and violate our sovereignty. For many years, we tried to remind Iran about the fate of those who expanded their influence at the expense of others, hoping it will finally realize the importance of living in peace amidst friends. We have never interfered in its internal affairs, so we expect Iran to do the same, but it has repeatedly ignored our advice.
Iran is completely responsible for what is happening in the region. Investigations reveal that Tehran was responsible for many horrible incidents that have taken place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom respects brotherhood and it has refrained from ’shouting’ at Iran. It still occupies three islands in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It has disregarded the demands and decisions of the international community to return the islands to its rightful owner. Iran is behind everything that has happened and is happening in Lebanon, as well as the past and current incidents in Gaza. It will not be a surprise if we will discover later that it is also behind the operations of Somali pirates and the chaos in Yemen. It has continued to look at the Arab world through a disturbed eye.
Iran has been killing our people, yet it has the nerve to attend funerals of their victims, shedding crocodile tears without shame and without bothering to ask for the mercy of Allah so the dead can enter His paradise. We want Iran to issue a clear stand on a number of Arab issues, instead of going around raising doubts on the political system in Tehran. Hasn’t it demanded the return of the Kingdom of Bahrain to its wing? It has repeatedly claimed ownership of Bahrain only to apologize for such claims later. Isn’t it that Iran announced its plan to fight terrorists, only to form an alliance with Osama Bin Laden despite their sectarian differences on the premise that ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’?
Isn’t it that Iran has collaborated with traitors to wreak havoc in other countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Yemen and Egypt? Tehran considers Egypt the center of Arab security, hence, its keenness to establish strong relations with the Muslim Brotherhood to destabilize the country. These are just a few examples of the contradicting stands of Iran on various Arab issues.
Yes, we want Iran to stop its wickedness. It is very difficult for us to see the goodness of Iran as it has isolated itself from the rest of the world. We want Iran to identify its weaknesses and strengths because at the end of the day it cannot do anything beyond its capacity. It may succeed in wreaking havoc in some areas, but it cannot conquer the whole world. It will end up like Japan which dreamt of occupying the whole world, but lost the battle. Japan signed the so-called admission of defeat document on board an American ship that led the rest of the world against it.
The Mongols and their leader, Genghiz Khan, lost the battle due to their greediness. They were defeated in Eyn Jalout, after destroying Baghdad and swimming in the blood of its people and leaders. We want a wise leadership from Iran. We want it to acknowledge its limitations and maintain good relations with neighboring countries and the whole world through diplomacy and wisdom. Iran should accept the fact that genuine security is possible through economic stability, not the production of nuclear bombs.
Very good. Here is portrayed the evil influence of Iran in the World.
