By March 2011 two new women’s parks named Nargess and Ghaa’em, both of which have been planned and under construction will be open and the planning and construction of three other parks will get under way.

The Women’s Affairs Director of Tehran’s City Hall said: “Designing parks for ladies has certain requirements and Tehran’s City Hall has begun building five parks in five areas of Tehran. Currently there are two parks open: Maadar (Mother) and Pardis’eh Baanovaan (Lady’s Paradise) parks are equipped with such amenities as saunas, swimming pools, jacuzzis and hot tubs, bike riding paths, skating rinks and a library.

Below are photos of the opening of Pardis’eh Baanovaan, located in south Tehran in 2008.
