RAHANA Civil Rights – Fakher Abdollahzadeh-Fard, a school teacher in the village of Kesyan in the province of West Azerbaijan was fired from work for his political and civil rights activism.
Abdollahzadeh-Fard received the final decision of the provincial education board when he was summoned to its headquarters in Orooumiyeh.
Abdollahzadeh-Fard’s father was assassinated in 1994 by agents from the Intelligence Ministry. His 3 brothers had to leave the country after being subjected to pressures by the Intelligence Ministry. Prior to his dismissal, Abdollahzade-Fard had been repeatedly summoned by the education board for teaching in Kurdish language and defending the rights of ethnic minorities in his place of service.
