Thai Wildlife Protection Department puts the value of a baby tiger to be about $3,000 in Iran where exotic pets are in vogue.
If the woman,Piyawan Palasarn, caught smuggling the tiger had not had an overweight bag, the x-ray wouldn´t have been taken

TRAFFIC, a wildlife protection group reports that the baby tiger had been drugged and put alongside a toy tiger in the suitcase.
Originally the cat was dehydrated and couldn´t walk.
The animal´s health is improving under veterinarian´s care.

The chief of the airports wildlife checkpoint says:”Had the animal passed the oversized baggage check and gone through four or five hours of travel, it´s chances of survival would have been slim.”
