The wife of jailed Iranian reformist politician Mostafa Tajzadeh has written to Tehran’s prosecutor expressing concerns about her husband, RFE/RL’s Radio Farda reports.

Tajzadeh is a senior member of the Islamic Iran Participation Front and the Islamic Revolution Mujahedin Organization, and a former deputy interior minister. He was arrested shortly after the disputed presidential election in June 2009 and spent nine months in prison.

Tajzadeh was released on bail in the run-up to the Iranian New Year in March, but recalled to Tehran’s Evin prison last week after filing a complaint along with six other reformists against commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for their “interference in the June 2009 presidential elections.”

In her letter to prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dowlatabadi, Tajzadeh’s wife Fakhrosadat Mohtashamipur says that she has not heard from her husband since he returned to prison. She demands that the prosecutor “immediately let me know where my husband is being held.”

She warns that if she believes her husband’s life is in danger, she will let the world know. “This time I will inform the world of any blow on his sick body,” she says, adding that Tajzadeh recently had back surgery and is also suffering from severe neck pain.

Mohtashamipur’s letter was published on August 23 on the “Kalame” website, which is close to opposition leader Mir Hossein Musavi.
