Reformist cleric supports Grand Ayatollah Montazeri’s criticism of the Hardline Mullahs

Grand Ayatollah Bayat-Zanjani in a telephone call talked to Ayatollah Dasteghayb (member of the Assembly of Experts who has been under harsh attacks from hardliners after his remarks criticizing the Assembly of Experts for its incompetence in reviewing the performance of the Supreme Leader in the events after the elect…ion). In this phone conversation Grand Ayatollah Bayat-Zanjani while praising Ayatollah Dastghayb for his courageous remarks, said that Ayatollah Dastgheyb’s recent position is a “Combat in the name of God” and called him an advocate and a scholar icon.
