Hojjat ol'Islam Haydar Mosslehi

* * The Revolutionary Guard-run Fars News Agency reported: “Hojjat ol’Islam Haydar Mosslehi,  Minister of Intelligence and Security announced his ministry’s readiness in assisting Palestinian groups in their plan to launch a virtual Intifada. During a gathering of the National Unity for the Future of Palestine held at the Iranian Radio and TV network’s auditorium, that included Khaled Mashal, various Hamas leaders as well as a number of the Palestinian elite, Hojjat ol’Islam Haydar Mosslehi emphasized the importance of the third Intifada  including a virtual network and the media.

Hamas leader Khaled Mashal

He said: “A virtual network is valuable in combating the inhumane international anti-Zionist communities. We can launch a full scale media blitz against them. I offer the assistance of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security in providing Palestinian groups such capabilities and given our exceptional knowledge and expertise in confronting the recent wave of calamity and chaos created by the riffraff protesters in Iran, we will be able to score a notable triumph against international sovereignty.”

* * , billionaire and leader of the ultra-conservative syndicate, the Motalefeh Party said: Now Mousavi and Karrubi can never rejoin the fold. In an interview with the daily newspaper Iran Habibollah Asgarowladi, the ‘Godfather’ of one of the most feared and above-the-law organizations said the following: “One of the first comments out of our enemies was that there was fraud involved in the election. The candidates in question participated in the most popular election and when they lost the highest voted president in the history of the Islamic Republic under suspicion. People voted officially and legally and it was all under the authority of the Minister of Interior and the Expediency Council which as the legal supervisor confirmed the veracity of the election. Our beloved Supreme Leader affirmed it as well. The head of the judiciary who swore to the Qor’an in front of the members (of the Iranian Parliament) also witnessed the president’s oath and the process of swearing him in. From a constitutional standpoint the election is done and over with and our president has chosen the members of his administration and properly introduced them to the Parliament and they have all been approved his choices. What has not ended however is the chaos that these two defeated candidates have stirred up so that calm cannot be restored to the country. So now we have been put in a position where the enemy has us at the cross hairs of visible and invisible calamity. If we do not take care and we do not turn the “I” back into “we” things can get to a point of no return. And so I quote someone who knows Mr. Mousavi who shall remain nameless, who told me that if the two, Mr. Mousavi and Mr. Karrubi do not watch out, they’ll end up in a position where they will not be able to rejoin the fold.”

* Iran Khabar News Agency reports: The Iranian regime has increased security in a large number of public and private dwellings. Among these are large hotels in Tehran and other big cities throughout Iran.

Tehran’s Hotel Laleh which is one the most upscale, five star hotels in Tehran is now under total surveillance and control of security forces. Visitors are not being allowed to stay in the hotel lobby.

* * More academic forced into retirement: this time . Following the forced retirement of experienced academics throughout various universities in Iran, now three of the professors from University of Tabriz, Dr. Karim Hosseinzadeh-Dalir, Dr. Firouz Jamali and Mohammad-Reza Pour-Mohammadi, all three of whom had signed a statement in June 2009 endorsing Mir-Hossein Mousavi have been forced into the same. University of Tabriz students have announced that they will go on strike in order to protest the regime’s politically motivated actions against these academics.

* * Beyond savagery, a mother tortured by the Iranian regime’s agents. The following is an excerpt of comments by Mostafa Karim-Baygi’s mother in the : “My son had been in the morgue for 14 days but we didn’t know and spent days and nights in total helplessness, trying to glean information from anywhere we could: Evin prison, the police information bureau…we were at loose ends. During these 14 days when we called my son’s mobile it was switched off but at night time, after midnight we would get phone calls from his mobile where we would hear someone panting and gasping for air, like the person on the other end was exhausted and in need of help. This would happen over and over again throughout the night.”

It is important to mention that Mostafa Karim-Baygi was killed during the Ashura (December 27th) protests at the hands of the Basiji militia members.

* * Below: A video of the loved ones of political prisoners gathered outside Tehran’s Evin prison on Monday, March 1st. These gatherings are now almost a daily occurrence and have continued since the summer where parents or the loved ones of those who were arrested and not heard from would gather to get information about their missing family members. Now however it has become more of a vigil protest. Sobbing of a family member holding vigil for her loved one can be heard in the background.

* * Islamic regime begins to build a case against the Rafsanjani clan. Fars News, the Revolutionary Guard-run News Agency reported: Minister of Justice, Morteza Bakhtiari  (photo) who spoke at the weekly gathering of preachers announced: “Regarding the recent calamities, I must report that we are actively investigating the case files of all those charged with having created chaos and stirred up trouble and the necessary steps will be taken to that end. Among those for whom case files have been created are Mehdi and Faezeh Hashemi-Rafsanjani.”
