The 2-month long interrogation of Bahareh Hedayat, a senior Advar member, concluded last Wednesday.

RAHANA – The senior member of the Advar Tahkim Vahdat was able to have a 10-minute prison visit with her family on Thursday, one day after her 2-month long interrogation ended.

According to a RAHANA reporter, the short visit was granted after Hedayat’s husband asked the prosecutor, Jafari Dolatabadi, to authorize a face to face visit. The prosecutor, however, only authorized a cabin visit which was cut short to 10 minutes as a result of high number of prisoners currently detained in Evin.

Most of Hedayat’s charges are related to prior activities of the Advar Tahkim Vahdat Organization of which she is a member. This is while ATV is registered as a legal entity and as such one person cannot be held responsible for its activities.

It has been reported that Jafari Dolatabadi was present at Hedayat’s interrogation sessions and personally indicted her for charges he qualified as being “very heavy”. Hedayat’s charges include: propagating and depicting a dark image of the regime, actively taking part in post-election events, talking to foreign media organizations, insulting the Supreme Leader, insulting the President and conspiracy and assembly with intent to act against national security.

Hedayat was arrested on December 31st, 2009. She is currently held in a cell she shares with the detained journalist Layli Farhadpour.
