In a 30 second phone call on Thursday, Shiva Nazar Ahari told her family the news of her transfer to a “cage-like” solitary confinement cell.

60 days after her arrest, Nazar Ahari told her family in a short phone call that her interrogation continues and she is under pressure to accept the charges.

Nazar Ahari described her solitary confinement cell as “cage-like”; so small that she cannot even move her arms and legs.

According to Committee of Human Rights Reporters (CHRR), Nazar Ahari was arrested on December 20, 2009 along with two other CHRR members-Koohyar Goodarzi and Saeed Haeri. Nazari Ahari had also been arrested last summer, but was released on $200,000 bail 100 days later. Since the June presidential election she has spent 160 days in prison, 100 days of which she has spend in solitary confinement.
