According to the Kuwaiti Al Rai newspaper, one year prior to the Khomeinist revolution, in 1978, Kamran Daneshjou, Iranian Minister of Science who lived in Britain at the time, fell in love with a Greek girl named Olga. Olga was Greek Orthodox. In order to marry Olga, Daneshjou decided to convert and after his baptism, he was given the Greek name: Georgios.

According to the Islamic regime converting from Islam to any religion is apostasy and one can be sentenced to death.

Though this information has not been confirmed, below are the documents that the Kuwaiti newspaper has divulged as proof of Daneshjou’s conversion.
