Mr. Massoud Kord-Pour, son of Rassoul, born in the calendar year 1350 (March 1971 to March 1972), resident of the town of Boukon, province of Kordestan, holding a masters degree in Geography from the Azad (Free) University of Central Tehran, is the previous professor at Farabi University of Boukon has spent the last two (2) months in his place of exile, in the town of Takawb located in West Azerbaijan province. Massoud was charged by the Ministry of education and training of Kordestan of:
Inciting teachers to strike on the 26th and 27th of the month of Farvardeen, 1386 (15th and 16th of April, 2007)
Absence from classes on the 26th and 27th of Farvardeen
Giving interviews to foreign radio channels
Regarding his charges, Mr. Kord-Pour states: “Our movement is totally academic and civic and has absolutely no political aspect; we have not taken to any violent action and we generally do not believe me in any violence; in fact some of the teachers are staunchly religious which disallows them from doing anything violent as they are dependent on the government for their income and they are trained by the authority and leadership and now they are in the service of that leadership. We are seeking social order and the implementation of justice and those in the position of authority say the same thing. So if we speak of justice, we have not said anything or spoken against the word of the authorities, all which is against violent confrontation. And thank God, we have no issues with the constitutional law either. Our issues are issues of livelihood. I have a masters degree and have gone up from track 12 to track 13; as such, I only earn one thousand seven hundred (1700) Tomans more in this track promotion.” Regarding his request from the esteemed judges he says: “Our request from the esteemed judges is that they pay attention to our defenses, that they do not confront us via disciplinary action and that they decide independently and not take orders from groups other than those of the Ministry of education and training.”
