Based on decisions, apparently made during a session of the Insurance Assembly, held in Tehran, where authorities from the ministries of Labor, Social Affairs, Industries & Mines as well as the management of the Iran Sadra factory and provincial authorities were present, an agreement was to be reached on the implementation of unemployment insurance for five hundred and fifty (550) workers.

Four hundred and fifty (450) already-terminated workers, close to five hundred and fifty (550) other workers as well, were meant to be fit into the framework of the plan for the change of structure; first they were to be introduced, over a period of one year, to unemployment insurance and then terminated.
Boushehr-local labor activist, Isa-Mohammad Kamali told Dastranj: “Based on reports, at least one thousand (1000) workers of the Iran Sadra factory were to be terminated during the current year but after the termination of four hundred and fifty (450) workers, these terminations seemed to be cancelled.”
In the early part of the current year, Boushehr witnessed a number of noticeable workers strikes all which were as a result of the termination of contracts and a lack of special-order projects and Iran Sadra was not receiving any new orders.
Under the influence of these continued protests, the Insurance Assembly of Boushehr voted to have the workers returned to work by the end of spring, however it was not able to meet its promises, specifically when it came to providing projects for Iran Sadra and as such, by the end of spring all of these workers had in fact lost their jobs.
Kamali added: “In addition to the four hundred and fifty (450) workers who in the beginning of the year, as a result of the termination of their contracts, lost their job, five hundred and fifty (550) other workers as well, were meant to be fit into the framework of the plan for the change of structure and to be slowly integrated into unemployment insurance.” According to Kamali, based on decisions, apparently made during a session of the Insurance Assembly, held in Tehran, where authorities from the ministries of Labor, Social Affairs, Industries & Mines as well as the management of the Iran Sadra factory and provincial authorities were present, an agreement was to be reached on the implementation of unemployment insurance for five hundred and fifty (550) workers. Kamali stated: “As there were no workers representatives present during these discussions, several of the provincial authorities refused to attend.”
