Abandoned passengers of the Conviasa airline flight to Caracas-Damascus-Tehran are once again ditched at the Damascus airport.

According to received reports from Damascus, at noon on Sunday, December 13th, the scheduled flight stopped in Damascus for refueling where the passengers deplaned; the plane then abandoned sixty passengers whose destinations were Tehran and without any announcement returned to Caracas. The Iranian ambassador to Venezuela, Abdol-Reza Messri was also among the sixty passengers headed to Tehran. The passengers waited at the Damascus airport till late in the evening on Sunday, until after the inquiries and follow up of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, they were relocated to a hotel in the Zeynabieh district of that city.

Last month another such incident occurred where passengers returning from Caracas to Tehran were stranded for 48 hours and were finally able to take several connecting flights back home.
