Head of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani called the post-election situation in Iran “really serious.” He also spoke about Iran’s nuclear program, calling the global consensus on the program “dangerous,” and adding, “In this situation having alliance and unity are the most important things. If they feel that we don’t have unity, they might be tempted to be more evil.” Hashemi also noted that only the Supreme Leader can solve Iran’s post-election crisis and create unity among the Iranian people.
