The White House called on Iran to free all three detained US hikers, after the Iranian government said it would free one of the captives on Saturday.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the administration was checking the veracity of reports on the planned released with the Swiss government, which represents US interests in Iran.
“These are three innocent children, innocent kids who committed no crime, all three of whom should be released and released immediately by the Iranian government,” Gibbs said.
