Nassrollah Nasri the defense lawyer for Ehsan Fattahian, a Kurdish Political prisoner on death row, has told HRA: “On November 6th, 2009, I was notified to go to the prosecutor’s office in Sanandaj to receive notice regarding the execution of my client”.
Nasri added: “Ehsan Fattahian will be executed on the morning of Wednesday, November 11th, 2009. I have notified his family, and am currently trying to delay the execution”.
Ehsan Fattahian, son of Ezzatollah, was arrested last year in the Kurdish city of Kamyaran. He was first sentenced to 10 years in prison to be served in exile, by the 1st branch of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj. His sentence was changed to death during the appeal process, based on Article 22(3) of the Amendments to the Revolutionary and Common Courts law and Articles 186, 190 and 191 of the Islamic Penal Law.
