EXECUTION…

* * Below: An interview with Khalil Bahramian, defense attorney for two of the executed on Sunday, Farzad Kamangar and Shirin Alam-Hooli. He is asked about the details of the return of the remains of the two which so far the Iranian regime has refused to turn over to the Kamangar and Alam-Hooli families (as well as the other 3 families of those who were hanged on Sunday, May 9th). Bahramian says: “I went to the revolutionary prosecutor’s office and a legal assistant tried to be helpful and finally we were told that the decision to return the bodies is something that the National Security Council must agree to this and I said please if you can do whatever you can to hand over the remains, please do it; I offer you my guarantee as a lawyer that nothing out of the ordinary will occur except for the burial of the bodies. This event has shocked me and frankly, I am speechless. I don’t know if I’m asleep, or I’m awake…or what. I am doing my utmost to try to take possession of three of the five bodies so that their families, the mothers can see their children one last time. Farzad Kamangar has requested in his last will and testament to be buried in his own village.” The interviewer asks: “Are all 5 bodies still being held?” Bahramian responds: “Yes all 5 bodies are still in the Kahrizak prison’s morgue…”

They held photos of not only the five Iranians who were executed in Iran on Sunday but they also protested the continued executions of Afghans at the hand of the Iranian regime. Afghan sentiments against the brutality of the Iranian regime is heating up and it seems that the protests against the continued human rights violations in Tehran are just beginning.

Shirin Alam-Hooli who was among the 5 executed on Sunday, May 9th.

* * Iranian regime authorities: “The executed were Mohareb (combatants against God) and they have to be buried from away from any Muslim cemetery. Four days following the execution of the five Iranian political prisoners the Iranian security forces are still refusing to return the remains of the deceased. One of Shirin Alam-Hooli’s relatives reports: “Shirin’s father’s house has is surrounded by plain clothes agents of the Iranian regime and they are barring friends and relatives from visiting with the mourning family. Also the mobiles of each family member has been confiscated and they have been told that their loved ones cannot be given a proper Muslim burial as they were labeled to have been Mohareb by the regime authorities.

Also on Thursday, May 13th, an warrant for the arrest of Farzad Kamangar’s brother has been issued. Kamangar’s brother announced on Monday, the day following his brother’s execution that the executions were directly ordered by Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader. As the Kamangar family returned from Tehran to their hometown, Kamyaran, agents from the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) harassed and threatened them, putting them under house arrest. Agents have disconnected the Kamangar family’s home telephone.

During the Kamangar’s family’s trip to Tehran’s Evin prison, regime agents attempted to arrest the entire family, but with the help of people they were thwarted.

As the videographers drive by in their car they stop and ask the people standing by their cars about what they are waiting for and the response is: “We’re waiting for gas!” And finally in the end of the video they arrive at the gas station.
