Female Ashura Detainee Mottahareh Bahrami Sentenced to Death

Mottahareh Bahrami, who was at first held in ward 209 with Baha’i and media detainees, is currently detained in Evin’s women’s ward.

Bahrami was arrested on Ashura (December 27, 2009), along with her husband, her son and 2 friends. She has been sentenced to death for alleged links to the MKO. The case is currently undergoing the appeal process.

Mohsen and Mehdi Daneshvar are Mottahareh’s husband and her son who were arrested with her, along with a friend of the family called Rayhaneh Haj Ebrahim.

Jaras - Motahareh Bahrami was arrested during the Ashura protests on December 27, 2009. She has now been sentenced to death. Bahrami was detained in ward 209 of Evin prison for a period of time with Baha’i prisoners and then with journalists. She is currently detained in the female’s ward of Evin prison.

Motahareh Bahrami was arrested along with her husband Mohsen Daneshvar, her son Mehdi Daneshvar, and a friend Reyhaneh Haj Ebrahimi. Bahrami was accused of connections with the Mujahedin Khalgh Organization (MKO) and was sentenced to death. Her case is going through the appeals court.
