In this video, President Obama sends an important message to those celebrating the Persian holiday of Nowruz, and in particular to the people and government of Iran. While recognizing our continuing differences with the Iranian government, the President outlines his commitment to a more just and hopeful future for all Iranians. To everyone celebrating Nowruz around the world, may you have a peaceful and prosperous new year.

Mr. Obama, that is not a government! A government is one that is elected and last we all checked these goons were not only not elected, they have beaten, raped, imprisoned, murdered, anyone who has protested against their election fraud. How can you so spinelessly sit there and extend a hand to these despots? Do you think that by this kind of double talk that the regime in Tehran would get all weak-kneed and fall into your arms? It is becoming more and more clear to all of us Iranians that you will typically throw our people under the bus too; that seems to sadly be your way…typical Washington: anything for a little brownie point for you! Your hope and change seems to have been nothing more than a ruse.
