Regime-run newspaper Resalat writes: “A source close to one of the recent presidential candidates (Mahdi Karoubi) divulged that during several meetings, his advisers have convinced him to tape a video message on the occasion of the Iranian New Year (Norooz) of the upcoming year Islamic calendar year 1389. The main issue discussed during these meetings was how to bring the (video) message to people’s attention as during the Norooz period most internal media are either closed or are running slower than usual. Therefore one of arrogant Karoubi’s deft advisers suggested that by paying a sum of money to several satellite sites and foreign media who can always be bought, to deliver the message. Up until the publishing of this item, the adviser’s suggestion has been approved and ‘Mr. Candidate’ will discuss the fact that he got less votes than the null and voided votes and then he plans on naming the year 1389, the year of tyranny.”
