The prosecutor general of Iran has described the Revolutionary Guards’ suppression of the people following the 12 June presidential election as “unparalleled” and said “the performance of IRGC during recent events and the sedition that we were facing, was truly valuable, firm and with awareness.”

According to Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA), Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei praised the IRGC’s role in suppressing the post-election demonstrations and stated that IRGC’s response to the protests was both “worthy and desirable.”

The former head of the Intelligence Ministry of Iran said that with the demonstrated force of the IRGC, it can now “enter the different security, cultural and social realms and it must use this capacity well.”

Ejei also had praise for the country’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in recent months and said that all those outside the regime had “confessed” to how he had guided the country with “wisdom.”
