Concurrent with a visit paid by the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Kabul yesterday, the Iranian Trade Center was established in the capital of Afghanistan.

As reported by Khabar Online correspondent, founded by Iran’s private sector, the call for attracting Iranian companies to the 2000 square meter center began from November. 100 Iranian companies can entirely do business at the place.

Recently Iran’s Trade Development Organization has extended its aids from exporters to Iraq’s market to those of Afghanistan’s market. According to the figures, the exports of Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan in the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (began on March 21, 2009) have raised by 56 percent compared to the earlier year.

With a population of more than 32 million, Afghanistan is a potentially lucrative market for Iranian exporters. On the other hand, similarities in terms of language and culture play an important role in the development of economic relations between the two countries.
