Human rights activist and defence Mohammad Oliayifar was arrested this morning after referring to a revolutionary for the purpose of carrying out his one-year prison sentence. He was taken to an unknown location after being arrested by security forces.
According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency, Oliayifar had been the legal representative for a great number of political prisoners.
On 7 February, the Tehran revolutionary court sentenced Mr Oliayifar to one year in prison for propagating against the Islamic Republic. He had previously protested against the harsh sentences handed down to Behnoud Shojaei and other juvenile defendants.
In past days, a total of thirty arrests, or attempts at arrest have been cited by a great number of human rights defenders in Iran.
