Evin Interrogators did not allow Mohammad Amin Valian’s family to visit with him on Thursday.

RAHANA – The family, who had with them an authorization issued by the prosecutor, went to the prison on Thursday, hoping to visit their detained son. However, as is quickly becoming a pattern of behaviour, Evin authorities ignored the order and denied the family the visit.

According to a RAHANA reporter, Valian is currently detained at ward 2A, which is under IRGC management. His legal situation remains uncertain.

The 20-year old member of the Islamic Student Association of Damghan University was arrested on January 12 in Damghan, following the Ashura protests, and transferred to Evin prison in Tehran.

Valian has not had contact with his family since his arrest; he was taken directly from solitary confinement to the show trial of the Ashura detainees. The student activist has been charged with Moharebeh, corruption on earth, assembly and conspiracy with intent to act against national security, undertaking propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic and insulting high authorities.
