Pakhshan Azizi, a Tehran University student, is in critical in Tehran’s Evin Prison condition after going on hunger strike over her arbitrary detention.

RAHANA – Pakhshan Azizi has started a hunger strike in protest to her arbitrary detention.

According to Kurdish media reports, Aziz, a socialwork student at Tehran University was arrested on November 16, 2009 for taking part in a protest on the university campus following the execution of Ehsan Fattahian. More than 3 months after her arrest, Aziz remains in Evin Prison on a temporary detention order.

Azizi has been severely weakened and her condition has deteriorated since she began her hunger strike.
