Taraneh and Naghmeh Ghanooni were tried today during a court hearing which lasted 10 minutes.

RAHANA – Taraneh and Naghmeh Ghanooni appeared today before a judge who questioned them about their faith. Both women admitted that they were of Baha’i faith.

According to a RAHANA reporter, Taraneh and Naghmeh have recently been moved from solitary to a public ward in Evin Prison. The 2 women were arrested about a month ago for allegedly taking part in Ashura protests.

Naghmeh and Taraneh have been accused of an act that is in total contradiction with their Baha’i faith, which prohibits its followers from engaging in political activities.

The court is expected to issue its ruling tomorrow.
